Jake + Emily's 60's Styled Wedding | Virginia Wedding Photographer

Jake + Emily's 60's styled wedding day was so fun and unique!!

Emily's dress was so unique in so many ways; the top half of her dress and belt was from her grandmas wedding dress with a lace overlay and her mother in law MADE the dress!! Her bridesmaids wore vintage floral dresses and had their hair styled like the 60's. Jake wore a burgundy suit, which was so dapper!

Every time Emily would walk into her grandparents house and see their wedding photo hanging, she would always say that she was going to wear it on her wedding day. She also wore her grandma's watch and a bracelet that her matron of honor got made with her Pop Pop's writing on it! (How sweet!!!)

She took DIY to a whole new level! Not only did her mother in law make her dress, but her and her momma made the girls getting ready shorts from scratch (!!!!!), her step mom made the cake topper, her matron of honor helped make their matching shirts. Emily also painted and grew her centerpieces, cut out all of the table markers, and grew their succulent favors!! That is just a LITTLE bit of it! Emily and her girls pulled this off SO, extremely well!!

What I loved most about their wedding was that it wasn't what the trend was doing, it represented Emily and Jake so well. It was THEIR wedding. They owned it!!!
