Home Office Tour | Brooke Waldroup Photography

One of our goals this past year was to separate work from personal and really take the time to not work some. (You can read about it HERE!) I started to carry my work into the living room and rest of the house more, which is what we don't want, that way it is easier to separate work from personal.

We started problem solving how I could get back into the office rhythm and I felt the need to rearrange things. I wanted to buy a dresser get rid of the cube shelving, buy a new arm chair with an ottoman so I could be comfy while I work (hence why I always end up on the couch or in the recliner haha) and then add a tv because I like to have something on in the background other than just music.

After over a year of being in this house I have finally gotten my office to where I want it, minus a few small things like paint.

We changed the light fixture, added a rug, mounted my desk, added a small tv. Having a simple, but inspiring and clean space is extremely important for productivity!

While I do take off Sundays, I try to at least take 15 minutes to make sure the office is ready for a productive week. This means I tidy up if it’s needed and make my to do list for the week.

I make one master to do list per week and then each day I highlight the tasks I will commit to for that day. As much as I am a sucker for a cute notebook, I actually just have these master lists in a black plain jane notebook. It keeps it simple and realistic while not being too distracted by cutesy things.
